Cyber Monday Brings Half Price on 3d Resources

The new release of the day is Reality 4, which you can pick up in either a DAZ Studio or a Poser version. I haven’t used Reality so can’t tell you much about this software, but the results always look impressive. It’s one to investigate further if realism and photographic style human portraits in particular are something you aim for. There’s a 41% introductory discount, and this applies whether or not you are in the Platinum Club.

The Cyber Monday sale is 50% off Resources and Add-Ons. There are some treasures to be found among this selection of 958 different products and utilities. They range from 4-figure sum discounts on commercial game developer licences for some of the store’s top artists, plus rare half price deals on software such as Vue 11, Genetica and Filter Forge, all the way to just a few dollars for Carrara skin shader packs, GenX add-ons and a variety of brushes and texture resources. Particular artists to look out for are Sickleyield (utilities), deviney (Photoshop brushes), Eva1 (shaders), Fisty (shaders), DimensionTheory (skies and lights), InaneGlory (lights), Khory (shaders) and IgnisSerpentus (texture resources). But that’s by no means all you’ll find, so see what else you can discover. The banner linking to this sale can be found on the DAZ store homepage.

You can still get the Black Friday 47% discount on 923 items from a variety of artists, listed in the weekend post.

At the moment Fast Grab too still has the 92 teenager related products. I’m also seeing the 47% discount (which stacks with other sales) on DAZ Originals around the store. Check your wishlist to see if something you’ve been wanting is discounted!

Update: Fast Grab has changed! Hop on over and see 83 new items at 70% off, including what looks like most of Ron’s (deviney) store.

I confess, I was pretty underwhelmed by the Black Friday Sale. Maybe it’s to be expected after two months of continuous and generous sales, but if you were waiting for something impressive on Black Friday I think you were disappointed.

Today, though, is a different matter. Loads of good products in the “Resources and Add-Ons” sale, including some that had remained resolutely full-price through the PC and PA sales. Resulting in my credit card getting another caning. Oh well, at least I had the new month’s $6 voucher to offset against it.

My cart included the Fabricator (one of those not-previously-discounted products) following the recommendation on this site, so I’m looking forward to playing with that. Didn’t spot that the Fast Grab had changed, so now have to decide which of Ron’s brushes I can afford NOT to buy…

The Fabricator is a real favourite of mine, along with its add-ons. You’ll be able to retexture all those outfits and get more mileage out of them. There are some freebie diffuse texture tiles for it on ShareCG and you can use the ‘Weave’ bump tiles with your own seamless tiles too. For some outfits you might need to make new mat zones, but that can be done within DAZ Studio itself… though now we are on 4.7 I guess we’ll need to figure where these tools are hiding all over again!

I need to take another look through the Resources sale, so far I’ve only bought a pose set from Fast Grab, but it turned out to be a fantastic product and only cost $2.99. I should have got myself the Young Teen models while they were so cheap, but just can’t see a use for them when I already have the Growing Up morphs.
