From The Heat of Africa to the Chill of an Ice Mummy

Today is a day of contrasts. We’re feeling an icy blast from the DAZ3D store, where Walker HD for Genesis is the one and only Monday release so far (I’ll update if that changes). On the other hand, Hivewire 3D spirits us to Africa, where the long-awaited The Face of Africa Skin Set (1) for DS has been released. You’ll also find there some enchanting backgrounds that anyone can use, regardless of your preference for 3d software.

So, back to Walker. He’s certainly an impressive character — we’d expect no less from The AntFarm after all. The high-definition detail brings his frozen skin and face vividly to life. You even get wispy hair for his head and chin to complete the look. A new kind of monster for your polar explorers to face through a raging blizzard, or maybe just some variety for your zombie apocalypse (because you never know just what you’ll find when you open a chest freezer!). You can get 30% off a selection of related items with your purchase.

The Face of Africa is a beautiful set of skin textures for Dawn. You’ll need to morph the figure yourself, this pack is just the materials, but they do look lovely. You can choose between 6 faces with makeup and one without, and get 6 eye colours too. Naturally, full body materials are also included. The Enchanted Waters Backgrounds I mentioned are very pretty and come from the imagination of Olymphia. They feature magical seashores, and there are 10 in all. Layer them behind your characters in postwork, or I guess you could import them straight into Studio or Poser to include in your render.

The PC+ Artist Thank You sale has been changed to feature the following artists: 4Blueyes, Aave Nainen, Age of Armour, Alessandro_AM, Cute3D, Design Anvil.
